Mirivilo

Mirivilo · Export

Save what's in your iPhone backup, in formats that open anywhere.

Mirivilo's Export saves copies of what's in an iPhone or iPad backup to your Mac: one conversation, all of your contacts, or everything at once. No iCloud needed, and the device doesn't need to be connected.

What you can export

In which formats

What Formats
Messages PDF (easy to read and print), Text (one file per chat) or CSV (for a spreadsheet)
Contacts vCard in one file (opens in Contacts), one vCard per contact, or CSV
Photos Originals (full quality, as taken) or JPEG (smaller, opens anywhere)
Call history, Notes, Calendar, Reminders and more Original files, or PDF and CSV
Voicemail and Voice Memos The original recordings

Everything writes one folder per kind: messages as web pages with their attachments, contacts as vCard and CSV, calls and reminders as CSV, notes as web pages, the calendar as iCalendar, photos and recordings as their original files, and Health as CSV when the backup is encrypted.

Where it goes

Exports go to your Downloads folder at first; choose another folder and Mirivilo remembers it. Each export gets a new folder, named after the device, what you exported and the time, and Mirivilo shows it in Finder when it's done. Nothing already in your folder is replaced.

From any of the last 30 days

Mirivilo keeps a backup for each day, for 30 days. Open an earlier day in the backup viewer and export what you need from it, such as a conversation you've since deleted on your iPhone.

Questions

Can I export iPhone messages to PDF?

Yes. Open a conversation, choose Export, then PDF. All of Messages works the same way.

Can I export my contacts to CSV without iCloud?

Yes. Contacts export as CSV, as one vCard file, or as one vCard per contact, straight from the backup on your Mac.

Can I export my call history?

Yes, as readable copies in PDF and CSV, ready for a spreadsheet. Apple saves call history only in encrypted backups, so turn on backup encryption for the device first.

Does exporting change my backup?

No. Export makes copies in a new folder; the backup stays as it is.

What does it cost?

Each iPhone or iPad gets 7 days free in the app, no card needed. Then $10 a year per device, plus tax; your Macs are free. When a subscription ends, you can still read and export your backups.
