iPhone and iPad

What's on your iPhone, readable on your Mac.

  • Back up on your schedule

By cable or over Wi-Fi, on a schedule you set. Encrypt it with a password if you like. Current iPhones and iPads ask for their passcode each time. That's Apple's rule.

  • Read your backups

Messages, contacts, notes, voicemail. Open them in the backup viewer. Export them to PDF or CSV.

  • Restore only what you need

Bring back only your messages, your contacts or app data, from the latest backup. Mirivilo backs up the device first when it can. Then it puts back what you chose.

  • Health

Your measurements and workouts. Read from encrypted backups.

Privacy and safety

Your data stays on your Mac.

Nothing in the cloud

Your backups and files never leave your Mac. You sign in with your email, nothing more. Mirivilo goes online to check your subscriptions, look for its own updates and learn the name of a brand-new device model. When a restore needs it, Mirivilo also activates an erased device, or reinstalls iOS on one stuck in Recovery Mode. The Privacy Policy lists each one.

Backed up before restore

Before a restore, Mirivilo backs up the device when it can. Until the next backup, you can undo the restore. Restores and erases ask you first.

Passwords in Keychain

The password you set is kept in your Mac's keychain when Remember in Keychain is on. One you type when a backup runs is always kept there. One you type only to open a backup isn't saved. None is ever written to a log.

Built on open source

Mirivilo talks to your devices through libimobiledevice, the open-source standard.

Use it on any of your Macs at no extra cost.

The free trial starts in the app, so there's nothing to cancel. Subscriptions renew automatically every year until you turn renewal off: in the app, at mirivilo.com/manage or on link.com. When a subscription ends, backups stop and restoring needs a subscription again; you can still read and export your backups.

Questions

Before you ask.

How do I try it?

Download Mirivilo, open it and enter your email address. We email you a link. Open it on any device and type the 6-digit code Mirivilo shows. Each iPhone or iPad gets 7 days free in the app, no card needed.

Which Macs, iPhones and iPads work?

Any Mac with macOS 14 Sonoma or later, Apple silicon or Intel. Any iPhone or iPad your Mac can connect to, whatever its iOS version. Mirivilo reads backups made on iOS 10 or later.

Do I pay for my Mac?

No. Macs are free, as many as you like. Sign in on each one with your email address. Only iPhones and iPads need a subscription.

Can I read my existing backups?

Yes. Encrypted ones too, once you enter the password. The phone doesn't need to be connected.

Does it read WhatsApp chats?

No. WhatsApp keeps its chats out of iPhone backups. To keep a copy, use Export Chat in WhatsApp.
